Does Solar Make Financial Sense for You?

Homeowners often wonder whether solar is cost effective. In most cases, when your monthly electric bill is $150 or more, going solar is a no-brainer – especially in Sunny San Diego.

Once we verify that your home is suitable for solar, you will have a variety of solutions for your investment — pay cash, take out a solar loan, enter into a solar lease, or use Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing.

Regardless of how you decide to pay for your solar system, more often than not, you can get solar for no money out of pocket while saving each month over the life of your solar energy system. Any decision to get solar beats staying with your local utility company!

Solar Saves You Money and …

Helps preserve our environment

In addition to the obvious financial benefits, going solar is a great way to help preserve our planet for future generations. Our Connected Home System helps to keep California’s blue skies clearer.

Reduces reliance on fossil fuels

Going solar also helps reduce or eliminate our need for dirty fossil fuels. Oil and natural gas are expensive, damaging to our environment and the cause of deadly wars and conflicts around the world.

Promotes positive social impact

We’re proud to positively impact our communities through Solar, not only by decreasing dependency on local utilities, but also to create an improved environment, and job opportunities!

Our Systems Perform

We are committed to protecting your investment, so we offer only solar panels, inverters, racking systems and other components that are made by SunPower – the leading U.S. solar equipment manufacturer for over 36 years.

Installation Types

Asphalt Shingle

Asphalt shingle roofs are common in Southern California and are the easiest type of roof to install solar panels on. If the roof is ten years old or less, the roof is an excellent candidate for going solar. When the age of the roof is over 10 years, a roof inspection is highly recommended before proceeding with a solar power installation.types of installations.

Tile Roofs

Tile Roofs are more difficult to install solar panels on, but in most cases, with a few extra steps, a tile roof can support a solar power system with no issues. It is important to note, that concrete tile roofs (s-tile or flat tile) can support solar installations without major modifications to the roofing material

Clay Tile Roofs

Clay tile roofs require substantial rework of the proposed array location in order to ensure the roofing system remains water tight. CM Solar Electric has installed on every type of tile roof and will ensure that the solution we provide will ensure the roof is water tight for the expected life span of the roof.

Flat Roofs Rack Systems

Many homes in Southern California have flat roofs which require a tilted racking solution to orientate the solar panels to the south to maximize solar exposure. Typically, Torch down/ asphalt flat roofs are good candidates for a conventional tilt rack system. We offer an exceptional method to address this types of roof that no other company will offer at the cost that we can bring to you.

Flat roofs with a TPO or Tourch Down

Flat roofs with a TPO or touchdown roof membrane do not lend themselves well to a conventional tilt rack system which requires roof penetrations. These roof types often require a ballasted solar panel racking system so as to leave the roofing membrane and corresponding warranty intact.

Ground Mounted Solar Panels

When the roof of a home does not lend itself well to a roof mounted solar panel installation, a ground mounted solar array may be a good alternative. Ground mounted solar power systems are often employed on residential properties with large yards and good solar access (limited trees, etc.). Additionally, ground mounted solar arrays need to be placed away from underground utility lines and septic systems, if applicable.
