Solar Battery Storage

During a blackout, your neighbors may be willing to be left in the dark, but are you? With a CM Solar Electrics battery system you don’t have to be.

By going solar, you are taking the first step towards energy independence. However, with a traditional system, you are still dependent on the grid. By utilizing battery storage technology, you can bank the energy you produce for times when you need it most.

During a power outage, the energy stored in your battery can power your home, giving you and your family the security you deserve. Seamless integration means that while your neighbors are searching for flashlights, your family can light the way.

Solar Battery Savings

Power utilities are changing the rules. Installing a solar battery storage system can help homeowners’ level the playing field. All homeowners will eventually be transitioned to a time-of-use billing structure. Simply put, this means when energy is used is just as important as how much is used.

Energy is nearly twice as expensive during On Peak periods (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) as Semi Peak or Off-Peak Periods. After installing solar, the home’s hourly usage looks quite different, as illustrated by the graph. During the middle of the day when the solar is producing the most, the system sends energy back onto the utility grid, giving the homeowner credits at the same, higher, Time-of-Use rates. Because solar produces the most from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., solar customers enjoy nearly double the value for the energy they send to the grid. Advantage Homeowner!

Solar Energy Storage:

Leveling the Playing Field

By shifting the On Peak period to 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., the utility reverses the advantage solar customers have enjoyed. Solar customers will now be consuming electricity at a cost that is twice as much as what they receive in credit for when they send it back to the grid.

However, by installing a battery, solar customers will store the energy they produce in the morning and use it later during the On Peak period. This allows the customer to sell their energy during Semi Peak hours and buy energy during Off Peak hours. It’s time to take your power back with an energy storage system.
